What is electrical insulation tape?

Electrical insulation tape is an adhesive tape that helps insulate electrical wires and components to prevent electrical conductivity and short circuits. 1)    PVC insulation tape

DTC’s PVC insulation tape is a flame-retardant tape that conforms to BS 3924 1980 Category 2 standards. Measuring 19mm in width and 20m in length, it is suitable for insulating and securing electrical wiring and components. The tape is made of PVC material, which provides excellent electrical insulation and is resistant to moisture, corrosion, and abrasion. It is available in different colours, including black, green, red, white, and yellow, which allows for easy colour coding and identification of wires.

2)    Aluminium foil tape

The 431 aluminium foil tape from DTC is a specialised tape with a width of 19mm, primarily intended for use in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems. The tape comes with a durable acrylic adhesive that can stick effectively to various surfaces, while also being able to resist high temperatures, which makes it perfect for sealing and patching air ducts, insulation, and pipes. 3)    Self-amalgamating tape

Measuring 19mm wide and 10m long, DTC’s self-amalgamating tape is a type of rubber-based tape that can fuse to itself when wrapped around an object while being stretched, forming a waterproof seal that is highly secure. The tape is frequently used for insulating and sealing electrical connections, wires, and cables, and is an excellent choice for applications that require resistance to moisture or corrosion.
