Sunseeker Dust Extraction Case Study
British luxury yacht manufacture Sunseeker International were tasked with improving the air cleaning and dust extraction of their busy Technology Centre in Poole, Dorset.
With substantial experience in dust extraction, air handling and heat recovery systems DTC were the ideal supplier to improve Sunseeker’s production facility.
A bespoke design was required to accommodate the 30 metre CNC machine and multi-axis routing head which rendered at source extraction methods impossible. The solution incorporated extraction from both sides of the CNC gantry with the extract provision shadowing alongside as the gantry travelled back and forth.
This innovative solution ensured maximum efficiency as extraction automatically focuses on the primary source of air pollutants whilst providing extraction to the entire facility.
The air handling system was installed with pioneering air convection control. As the warm polluted air is extracted and cleaned, heat is retained and recycled to warm incoming clean air, subsequently reducing any further load on the building’s heating system.
