[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For many, the summer months are all about gathering with like-minded people in outdoor/indoor venues to celebrate a shared passion – usually in the form of events or festivals. Glastonbury, Wimbledon, or the World Cup (it’s coming home…one day) instantly spring to mind. However, the composite market is no different. This summer, there are some great showcases of innovation, advice and best practice in the field. You should definitely keep an eye out for the following:
Seawork Southampton, Tuesday 11th to Thursday 13th June 2019
Local to DTC, Seawork International attracts 8,000 visitors each year featuring high caliber, high-spending maritime industry professionals. As well as a unique on-shore and on-water trade exhibition, the three day conference programme covers important issues affecting marine operators on a day-today basis.
Automotive Sector Showcase Warwick, Thursday June 20th 2019 *ONE NOT TO BE MISSED*
The automotive industry is experiencing very challenging times – this can be reflected no better than in the way car manufacturers approach the use of composites. Large-volume manufacturing spends vast amounts on equipment to procure and commission vehicles, though it can be even more costly to change a component post-design. This means the industry is currently very conservative, encouraging extensive prototypes before an investment is ever made.
A certain highlight will be John Lutton’s expert session on “Creative Composites”.
Advanced Materials Show Telford, Wednesday 10th to Thursday 11th July 2019
The Advanced Materials Show demonstrates the very latest in high performance materials technology for a range of applications including automotive, aerospace, energy and electronics.
Materials on display will include the latest in nanomaterials, composites, polymers, adhesives and sealants, coatings, foams, metals, textiles and thermoplastics.
Advanced Composites in Construction Birmingham, Tuesday 3rd to Thursday 5th September 2019
The 9th annual Advanced Composites in Construction event returns to Birmingham, where it will be focusing on hot topics within the construction industry. The main highlight will be the use of fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials in new and existing all-FRP structures as well as strengthening, refurbishment and reinforcement applications in traditional infrastructure.
The 3 day conference attracts practicing engineers, asset managers, researchers and representatives of regulatory bodies.
