What are solid state relays for switching?
Solid-state relays (SSRs) are electronic devices that are utilised to switch AC or DC loads without using any mechanical parts. They are composed of three key parts: an input circuit, an output circuit, and a control circuit. A low voltage signal is received by the control circuit, which turns the output circuit on or off. SSRs are usually utilised for high frequency switching applications where mechanical relays might not be able to keep up.
Solid state relays for switching also have several benefits, including long life, high reliability, and low power consumption. SSRs are available in different configurations, such as single-pole, double-pole, normally open, and normally closed, and they are used in a wide variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, and industrial automation.
What electrical relays are available?
DTC offer a variety of 12-volt relays, including:
- 4-pin high-temperature model with a 30-amp capacity
- 4-pin normally open model with a 30-amp capacity
- 5-pin normally open model with a 20/30-amp capacity, and a
- 4-pin normally open model with a 40-amp capacity
Also, available as an option when you click on our relays option are our 9-pole relay plug-in bases. These are the sockets or bases used to connect and hold 9-pin relays in place on a circuit board or panel. These bases provide a secure and stable mounting platform for the relays and enable easy removal and replacement when required. The 9 pins on the base correspond to the 9 pins on the relay, ensuring a proper connection between the two components.
